GOOD has placed affordable housing and equal access to economic opportunities at the centre of its 2026 manifesto, pledging to address spatial apartheid and build a fairer Cape Town.‎‎Through its “A Housed City” pledge, the party aims to promote affordable housing closer to the inner city, make better use of public land and challenge urban planning patterns that continue to separate communities from jobs, essential services and economic opportunities.‎‎GOOD argues that Cape Town cannot become a fair and inclusive city while thousands of residents are forced to live far from employment opportunities and the services they need. The party says the city’s housing challenges must be addressed by ensuring that people from different income groups can live closer to the economic heart of the city.‎‎The party maintains that housing is about more than providing a roof over people’s heads. It is also about protecting human dignity and ensuring that residents have access to employment, public services and opportunities to improve their lives.‎‎GOOD’s housing pledge seeks to challenge the spatial inequalities that continue to shape Cape Town, where the legacy of apartheid-era planning remains a significant obstacle to inclusive urban development.‎‎The party envisions a city where a person’s income does not determine their access to opportunities and where every community has a place in Cape Town.‎‎Under its vision of “One city. One standard. A fairer future for all,” GOOD is positioning affordable housing and more inclusive urban planning as key priorities in its 2026 local government election campaign.‎‎The success of the pledge will ultimately depend on how effectively the proposed policies are implemented and whether they translate into affordable homes and improved access to opportunities for Cape Town residents.‎‎#GOODParty #CapeTown #LocalGovernmentElections2026 #AffordableHousing #AHousedCity #SpatialApartheid #HousingCrisis #SouthAfricanPolitics #GOODManifesto #UrbanDevelopment‎‎GOOD Party, Cape Town, 2026 Local Government Elections, affordable housing, A Housed City, spatial apartheid, housing crisis, South African politics, GOOD 2026 manifesto, public land, inner-city housing, economic opportunities, urban planning, housing inequality, Cape Town communities, local government, employment opportunities, inclusive development, social justice, fair city‎
